Most of Arizona weather consists of two seasons: hot and less hot. Flagstaff weather is nothing like the rest of Arizona. Flagstaff enjoys all four seasons fully and completely: summer, fall, winter and spring.
What is the weather like in the summer?
Summers in Flagstaff: There’s rain, there’s shine and there’s wind. In other words, there are perfect, beautiful days and then there are showery days. The average day time temperature is anywhere from 65 degrees to 80 degrees; nighttime averages range from 35 to 50 degrees. One thing to remember about summer: always have an umbrella—a sunny morning can easily turn into a rainy afternoon.
What is the weather like in the fall?
Fall is full of reds, oranges and falling leaves. The air is crisp and cool, but snow isn’t falling—not yet anyway. This season calls for sweaters, coats and boots—a scarf and maybe even a hat—to keep the slight chill at bay. The average day time temperature ranges from 50 to 75 degrees; night time temps range from 20 to 40 degrees.
What is the weather like in the winter?
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Flagstaff winters are cold and snow filled—quite a shock to most visitors to the Grand Canyon State. Some winters are worse than others so check the weather report before packing and be prepared with snow shoes and a warm coat. The average day time temperature ranges from 20 to 40 degrees. The average night time temperature ranges from 10 to 20 degrees; although it can sometimes drop lower than that.
What is the weather like in the spring?
Ah, the great sense of relief that comes with the sunshiny and snow melting ways of springtime. Spring includes a hodge podge of weather from snow, sun, rain and wind. This season holds all sorts of surprises which is why it is always a good idea to check the weather reports before packing and before heading out of your hotel. The average day time temperatures range from 50 to 70 degrees; the night time ranges from 20 to 30 degrees.
*The first snow is usually on or just after Halloween weekend and rarely sticks for more than a couple of days.
